Officially Walking

Maclaren took her first steps in July, but she hadn't shown much interest in walking since. Until Sept. 4! She celebrated my birthday by walking and hasn't stopped since. She still has a hard time with more than 7 or 8 steps at a time, but she is slowly getting the hang of it. I've yet to get a good video of it, but this will give you the idea.

Drinking from a cup!

Taken August 2008 - 10 months. Maclaren is growing up. She drinks only from cups now - no more bottles.

Taken August 9, 2008 - 10 months old.
Maclaren learned "more" in sign language. She also knows how to clap and give a high 5.

Being Chased

Scott had a rare weekend off in July, his last until November; Maclaren, 10 months, enjoyed the extra time with Daddy. She loves when he chases her around the room. You can hear her excitement in this video.

10 months old!

Maclaren turned 10 months old yesterday. To celebrate the day, she said "mama" for the first time and also took her first unassisted steps. She "walked" about three steps from me to Scott. She continues to be a very happy baby, as evidenced by her constant smiles in pictures (see http://www.meesters.shutterfly.com/). She is also very vocal. Her expanding vocabulary now includes:

Yucca - our favorite and the one that puzzles us the most. We still have no clue where she got it.

Dada - her favorite, the word she says the most and usually knows exactly what it means.

Mama - it is a rare treat to hear this one. We've only heard it twice now.

Uh-Oh - she frequently says this and usually knows when to say it.

NaNa/NoNo - this varies and can be No No at times but is mostly Na Na. It has no meaning yet.

Maclaren Crawling & Pulling Up

This video was taken in early June at our house. Maclaren started crawling around 8 months and is now all over the place. She also loves to walk when you hold both of her hands.
